Gap Beauty Moves Beyond Its Fragrance Revival
On October 15, 2026, Gap Beauty introduced Bliss, a limited-edition gourmand fragrance built around butterscotch, cocoa bean and vanilla bourbon. More importantly, the launch brings hand cream and body lotion into the line for the first time, only months after Gap revived the fragrances that defined its beauty identity in the 1990s.

Developed with DSM-Firmenich perfumer Honorine Blanc, Bliss translates holiday comfort into scent. Butterscotch opens the fragrance, cocoa bean sits at its centre and vanilla bourbon gives the drydown its warm sweetness. Gap describes the idea through a familiar piece of its own wardrobe: the sensation of putting on a favourite sweater after coming in from the cold.
The fragrance arrives as 50ml and 10ml eau de parfum alongside a hand cream and body lotion, marking Gap Beauty’s first official move into body care. Actress Brittany O’Grady fronts the accompanying campaign, extending the brand’s “Wear What You Feel” concept across film, photography and even a curated playlist.

That expansion matters because Gap Beauty is still remarkably young in its current form. In July, Gap reintroduced Dream, Grass, Heaven and Om, fragrances originally associated with its 1990s stores, alongside the new Harmony. The formulas were rebuilt as 20 percent-concentration eau de parfums and positioned for contemporary habits such as fragrance layering.
When Gap relaunched those scents, nostalgia was the obvious entry point. Dream, Grass and Heaven already belonged to the sensory memory of shoppers who encountered them after Gap first entered fragrance in 1994. The harder question was whether that recognition could support an actual beauty category.
Bliss begins to answer it. Instead of relying indefinitely on archival names, Gap is adding an original scent, new textures and products designed to live inside a daily routine. Holiday gifting also expands the format further, with minis, fragrance duos and body mists built around the existing five-scent collection.
That shift turns the relaunch of 2026 into something more ambitious than a Y2K memory exercise. Fragrance reopened the door, but body care suggests Gap wants beauty to become another permanent extension of its American lifestyle vocabulary. Bliss may smell like comfort and nostalgia, yet its biggest purpose is to show where the category could go next for Gap Beauty.
